About Rural Health Continuing Education Sub-Program (RHCE) - Stream One
The Rural Health and Continuing Education Sub-Program (RHCE) - Stream One, funded by the Department of Health and Ageing and managed by the Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges (CPMC), is for specialist education in rural and remote areas.
The overall objectives of the RHCE Program are to provide education opportunities that support continuing professional development (CPD) for individual specialists and groups of specialists in rural and remote locations in Australia, with a focus on activities that encourage multidisciplinary team based training.
RHCE replaces the Support Scheme for Rural Specialists (SSRS).
RHCE Stream One funding is divided into two distinct components:
- Support for CPD initiatives that promote Multi-disciplinary Teams (MDT) and help build vocational support and learning capacity for health professionals in rural and remote locations; and
- Support for individual specialist CPD participation.
*** Applications for Individual Medical Specialist grants are now open for Funding Round Four ***
The RHCE Guidelines and the application forms, are available on the Applications and Guidelines page of this website. Please read the guidelines and application forms carefully to ensure that your application satisfies all the criteria, and send your application to your specialist medical college before the stated closing dates.
